Religious man holding up sign on Jacksonville Beach telling women to dress modestly

TikTok user @.katie.simmons was minding his own business on Jacksonville Beach in the US when a middle-aged religious fanatic blocked his view.

He captured the entire incident on camera, and since sharing it on TikTok on Monday, it has gone viral with over 680,000 views.

Standing in front of him, the man held up his aggressive handwritten signature.

It read: “God says Christian women dress modestly.

“1 Timothy 2:19.

“Regret. Come back to Jesus.”

But Katie didn’t have it, and immediately let go of the man.

“Sir, this is the beach,” Katie says in the clip.

“Should we dress modestly on the beach?”

He then laughed at her silliness.

“God doesn’t want women—” the man began before Katie interrupted.

“What if God is fake?” he quipped back.

TikTok users accuse many of being creepy and use the sign as a way to see women.

“He’s just out there as an excuse to stare at women without them feeling uncomfortable,” one person said.

“God says Christian Men Don’t Look at Women Lustly (Matthew 18:9. And if your eyes make you sin, pluck them out and throw them away),” said another on the social media platform.

“What if you flash it?” one third joke.

This isn’t the first time men have been seen criticizing women who wear bikinis on the beach.

Earlier this year, an Australian woman from Newcastle along the north coast of NSW came under fire online for wearing a string bikini.

Jordan Hartley, 26, shared a video of himself showering after swimming at the beach wearing two pieces of rope.

The Newcastle woman quickly drew criticism for her outfit, with some claiming it was “barely wearable”.

But Jordan responded to online trolls, saying no one has the right to comment on a woman’s body.
