PHOENIX (AP) – Arizona health officials reported more than 3,000 additional cases of COVID-19 on Sunday for the third day in a row.
The state’s coronavirus dashboard reported an additional 3,052 cases and two additional deaths, bringing the pandemic total to 965,462 known cases and 18,464 deaths since the pandemic began more than a year ago .
Arizona reported 3,225 cases on Friday as well as 23 deaths and 3,418 cases and 27 deaths on Saturday.
Prior to Friday, Arizona last reported more than 3,000 additional COVID-19 infections six months ago, on February 9.
Hospitalizations in the state linked to COVID-19 have almost tripled since the end of May.
