ORLANDO, Florida – With COVID booster shots underway and flu season quickly approaching, many are wondering if it’s okay to be protected against both diseases at the same time.

AdventHealth epidemiologist Dr Vincent Hsu said Thursday he expected a more active flu season than last year.

“As the masks come off, we are going to see a resurgence of the flu,” Hsu said.

He said COVID and the flu could infect the same person.

“Get the flu shot, just like the COVID vaccine,” Hsu said, adding that someone could get both vaccines at the same time. “On in each arm.”
