The Bromo-Semeru area was completely closed during the PPKM emergency

Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Center (BB TNBTS) reported that all tourist activities on Mount Bromo and Semeru were closed during the implementation of the Community Emergency Restrictions (PPKM).

Acting TNBTS Center Director Novita Kusuma Wardani of Malang City, East Java, said the closure of the Bromo-Semeru area from tourism activities followed the instructions of President Joko Widodo in the implementation of the emergency PPKM.

“All nature tourism destinations and attractions in the area of ​​Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park are completely closed,” Novita said, quoting IN PROGRESS on Monday (5/7).

Novita explained that the tourist area was closed in accordance with the 2021 2021 instructions of the Minister of the Interior regarding the implementation of Community Emergency Restrictions on Corona Virus Disease 2019 in Java and Bali.

According to him, the closure of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Tourist Area aims to minimize the impact of the risk of COVID-19 spreading on visitors, officers and the community in the National Park area.

“The closure will take place on July 3-20, 2021, all areas will be temporarily closed in accordance with the policy of President Joko Widodo. The goal of this emergency PPKM is to reduce COVID-19 cases,” he said.

The Central Government has decided to implement an emergency PPKM from 3 to 20 July 2021 in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia. There are several important provisions in the implementation of the emergency PPKM.

Some of the provisions enacted tighten the obligation for all workers in non-essential sectors to work from home, and teaching and learning activities take place online.

For an important sector, up to 50 percent of the office staff with strict health protocols and 100 percent for a critical sector.

The government allows supermarkets, traditional markets, grocery stores and supermarkets to operate until 20:00 WIB and have a capacity of 50 per cent of visitors. In pharmacies, it is allowed to operate for 24 hours.

However, the government decided that shopping malls and other shopping malls, including tourist areas, were closed during the implementation of the emergency PPKM.

Quoting the official websites of the East Java Provincial Government, on Sunday (4/7) there were 178725 cases of Corona virus, of which 155 288 were recovered and 13 173 died.
