When Aaron Rodgers first addressed reporters after reporting to the Packers training camp, he broadcast grievances that included the inclusion of several good players who had left the Packers, and whom Rodgers said the team should have kept. One such player was Micah Hyde, who was drafted by the Packers in 2013, played for Green Bay for four years, and then left for Buffalo on a free agency.
Hyde said Thursday in Buffalo that it was an honor “to hear him say something like this, the Hall of Fame player, one of the best quarterbacks of all time.”
Hyde also said Rodgers’ frustrations have been building for years. When Hyde signed a five-year, $30.5 million contract with the Bills in 2017, Rodgers told him he was upset that the Packers didn’t keep him.
“After leaving that place, I remember he called me and told me how frustrated he was,” Hyde said of Rodgers. “His journalist yesterday had a well-thought-out conversation he had with the media. I think he was talking about a lot of facts. Hearing him say my name was a blessing. If a guy like that thinks so myself, I know I’m doing something right.”
Hyde has done so much in his four seasons in Buffalo, and Rodgers makes no secret that he’s unhappy that he’s not doing so in Green Bay.
