The truck crashed into the center bulkhead on the south side of the M6 motorway earlier this morning, causing significant damage to the bulkheads. The accident occurred between the J7 Great Barr and the J6 Spaghetti Junction. Motorists traveling south are experiencing significant delays of over 90 minutes this morning, with queues stretching over seven miles.
The congestion spread to J10, and Wolverhampton/Walsall.
Motorists traveling on the northbound motorway also face delays of at least 20 minutes with four miles of traffic, which leads to the motorway in England.
Traffic officers closed two lanes of the southbound road and one lane on the northbound side.
As a result of the accident, oil spilled on the road and is currently being cleaned up, according to the AA route planner.
They said: “Two lanes closed, long delays, eight miles of traffic queuing due to an accident, truck involvement and oil spill on the M6 south between J7 A34 Birmingham Road (Great Bar) and J6 A38 Tyburn Road (Spaghetti Junction). J10A (M54). “
Apocalyptic conditions emerge from the truck scene across the central reserve, with the fenders partially torn.
A close-up shows part of the bulkhead inside the front of the truck.
It is not yet clear how the accident occurred and whether there were any injuries.
