So, what is the price of Lukaku next season? How does he compare to his new Chelsea teammates and similar pricing options throughout the rest of the league?

We evaluated Romelu Lukaku in the Fantasy Premier League ahead of the new season.

Romelu Lukaku’s Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Lukaku will cost managers £11.5m next season.

Price: 11.5 million pounds sterling

The first three matches: Crystal Palace (H), Arsenal (A), Liverpool (A)

Entering the FPL with a proven reputation and on the back of a killer Serie A goal-scoring season, Lukaku is priced at £11.5m, putting him in the premium class and making him the second most expensive striker in the game.

In his last full season in England, Lukaku was priced at £11m in 2018/19. However, before his move to Inter was confirmed in August 2019, he was valued at £8.5m for the 2019/20 FPL season – £2.5m cheaper than the previous campaign.

His improvement since his final season in England justifies his price increase, with his scoring record better than every striker in the league except Harry Kane, making it understandable why he is not in the £12m class with the Tottenham striker.

Aside from goals, minutes and assists, Lukaku finished last season with 225 FPL points. For context, that’s 20 points less than the highest-scoring player in the FPL last season, Bruno Fernandes.

So, how does Lukaku compare to his new Chelsea teammates?

In terms of price, Lukaku is Chelsea’s most expensive player next season, with strikers Timo Werner (£9.0m) and Tammy Abraham (£6.5m) both significantly cheaper than the Belgian after their prices were lower than last season.

Kai Havertz (£8.5m) is also £3m cheaper than Lukaku, but within the game he ranks as a midfielder, despite playing most of his matches in a frontal role last season.

The Chelsea trio’s ownership is also relatively low, with the highest ownership being Havertz (13.1%), and the tenth selected midfielder in the game.

Abraham is now one of the cheapest options in the game at £6.5m, but it seems unlikely he will get much game time if he stays at Chelsea, with the England striker now behind Lukaku, Werner and Havertz in the standings.

But how does Lukaku rank up against other Premier League strikers at a similar price point?
