The widow of Stephen Washington, one of the victims of the Plymouth shooting, hailed her “companion.”
Mr. Washington, 59, was shot dead in Keham on Thursday by 22-year-old Jake Davison, who killed four other people before taking a shot at himself.
A family statement from Devon and Cornwall Police read: “Devoted wife Sheila described Stephen as a soul mate and said, ‘Fly high, you have won your angel’s wings.'”

“Steven was a friendly and open person. He helped anyone when a hat fell, he loved his animals and was often seen walking with huskies in the area.
“Stephen was a devoted family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and best friend.
“Since the devastating events of two days ago, our world has been turned upside down in the blink of an eye, and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew it.
“Our thoughts and thoughts are with the families also affected by this tragic accident.”
Earlier on Sunday, Lee’s cousin Martin, 43, who was injured with his three-year-old daughter Sophie, described him as having “the kindest heart, who would do anything for anyone.”

“You only had to take one look at him to see how much I loved and adored his family,” said Jess Morcum, a journalist at PlymouthLive.
“I was always very proud to be able to say that you are my cousin,” she added. “The world would be a much darker place without you in it.”
In homage to Sophie, Ms. Morcum said her family was a “really a blessing” because she “has seen you grow into a beautiful, fun and smart girl” over the three years of her life.
“My heart aches so much when I think of how it should have been so much more. I’ll miss your trick and your dance even more.”

Many tributes to Mr. Martyn and his daughter, including flowers, cuddly toys and candles, were left at locations close to the scene in Keyham.
The gunman also killed his mother, Maxine Davison, also known as Maxine Chapman, 51, and Kate Shepherd, 66.

During a mass for victims at a church near the attack, Father David Way asked congregants to pray for the dead, adding, “We also pray for peace for Jake.”
Mr Way, a parish priest at St Thomas’ Church in Keham, told the Palestinian News Agency: “Those people who have died, we have to keep these in our prayers, as well as their loved ones who have been left behind.
“I hope we can break any cycle of anger, as it were, and create a cycle of love for all involved.”
