The versatile England international has taken to social media to vent his frustration with his current situation at the Emirates Stadium

Ainsley Maitland-Niles criticized Arsenal amid reports that the club had rejected a loan offer for the defender from Everton.

Maitland-Niles returned to the Emirates Stadium earlier this summer after a six-month spell at West Bromwich Albion with the goal of making his way back into Mikel Arteta’s first-team plans.

The 23-year-old has continued to find regular Arsenal minutes hard to come by with only two appearances so far this season coming off the bench, leading to speculation about his future.

It was reported that Everton had offered Maitland-Niles an exit, making a loan offer that included an option to buy.

However, it is assumed Arsenal rejected the Toffees’ advance and the England full-back took to social media to vent his frustration with the situation.

“All I want to do is go where I want and where I’m going to play,” Maitland-Niles wrote on his Instagram story.

Maitland-Niles also targeted scouting at Arsenal shortly after joining West Bromwich Albion on a temporary contract at the start of the year, claiming he accepted the move because it was a better alternative to “sitting on the bench for the rest of the season and rotting away”.

The England international made headlines again in June when he called for “clarity” from Arsenal officials during an interview with The Telegraph.

“I want a resolution, and then I hope to be able to work with whoever I need to work with,” he said.

“Whether it’s finding a new club or whether it’s continuing with my training. I’d like to get some sort of indication of what’s going on. Where[Arsenal]sees me? If it works out, if it doesn’t ‘and then I kiss Arsenal. It was a long journey but it was one I’m proud of.”
