Two more towns have been evacuated and soldiers are deployed as wildfires continue to rage on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
Officials said the battle was made more difficult by the “complex terrain and rude behavior of the fire”.
The fire – which occurred in a mountainous area above the resort of Estepona, popular with British tourists – has killed an emergency worker since it began on Wednesday.

High winds and high temperatures in late summer seem to have started on purpose, regional environment official Carmen Crespo said.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said the military emergency unit will assist firefighters in the Sierra Bermeja region.
“We will work in coordination and without rest in the face of the fire that is sweeping the province of Malaga,” he wrote on Twitter.
Andalusia’s regional forest fire agency said 365 firefighters, backed by 41 aircraft and 25 vehicles, were trying to bring the blaze under control.
“Ground firefighters are working intensively in harsh conditions in an attempt to stop the progress of the fire,” she added.

The towns of Gebrik, which has a population of about 500, and Jinalguasil, which has a population of about 400, have undergone what has been described as a “preventive evacuation”.
Residents were already confined to their homes due to the low smoke.
They will be staying at a sports center in the nearby town of Ronda.
And the Andalusian government said that “the evacuation process is taking place with maximum security measures and before a possible inappropriate development of the fire in that area.”
