Jimmy Carragher sends a warning to Cristiano Ronaldo to Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Mohamed Salah

Jamie Carragher believes that Cristiano Ronaldo will rival Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku for the Golden Boot this season after completing his summer return to Manchester United.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner made his United debut at the weekend, netting twice against struggling Newcastle early on.

His signature comes with a lot of expectations, but as one of the greatest players to have made this match, Ronaldo appears set to win the Premier League again.

Carragher believes that if he helps United finish top of the rankings, they will go down as the best player ever.

“I think if Cristiano Ronaldo can lead United to the title or the Champions League in the next two years, I think he will raise the bar for himself, if he can raise United’s eyes to an all-time high,” he said, while speaking on Sky Sports’s channel. Monday Night Football.

“If he can be the player to bring back the title after 10 years, that’s not exactly what Cantona did – that was 26 years – but I think that elevates him to the number one level for me.”

And Carragher continued, explaining that he will continue to score goals at Old Trafford, and thus will compete with Salah, Kane and Lukaku for the Golden Boot.

“For Manchester United now, without a doubt [his signing] He makes them a better team, you see his goal record. But when you buy a 36-year-old to play on this team and have the records he has, it’s about winning now, not about building for anything else.

“There is no doubt for me, he will challenge Salah, Kane and Lukaku for the Golden Boot.”

All four opponents have started scoring so far, with Salah and Lukaku already scoring three. But there is no doubt that they will be wary of Ronaldo’s move forward.
