World number one John Ram and top scorer in Europe, Sergio Garcia, will advance against Padraig Harrington’s team in the opening game of the 43rd Ryder Cup at Welling Streets.
Ram also played in the opening match of the 2018 competition, as Europe beat 17.5-10.5 winners of the Le Golf National to secure its fourth win in the last five editions of the Biennale.
The US Open champion will form an all-Spanish pair with Garcia, making his 10th Ryder Cup appearance and holding the same Ryder Cup points in his career as the entire US team together, with the duo exiting in their first four-way match at 7.05 a.m. (1.05 p.m. GMT) on Friday. .

The duo deals with the All-Star partnership of America between Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, who won three of their four matches together in Paris three years ago and played in the same group on all three training sessions this week in Wisconsin.
Ryder Cup rookie Victor Hovland will team up with Paul Casey against Dustin Johnson and newcomer Colin Morikawa, while Brooks Koepka and Daniel Berger take on all-English duo Lee Westwood and Matt Fitzpatrick.

Rory McIlroy, who played in the Ryder Cup for the sixth time in a row and one of four players surviving from Europe’s last victory on American soil in 2012, established a partnership with Ian Poulter who have played matches together in three of the last four Ryder Cups.
The duo won their four-legged match together in 2018 and will have another chance to impress in the final when they face FedExCup champion Patrick Cantlay and Olympic gold medalist Xander Schauffele, who collaborated in all four sessions of the 2019 Presidents Cup.

Bryson DeChambeau, Tony Finau, Scottie Scheffler and Harris English are the four players who will be sitting outside of Team USA’s four-way session.
