Raducano is scheduled to play at the Transylvania Open in Romania
Emma Raducano will train this week with former Joanna Konta coach Esteban Carrell.
The US Open champion set up a brief trial with the Spaniard as she weighed who was the best to guide the next phase of her career.
Andrew Richardson coached Raducano for the title in New York, but his short-term contract has not been extended.
Carell played a huge role in Konta’s rise to the top 10 in the world outside of the top 100.
It was a huge surprise when they parted ways with the company at the end of 2016, the year Konta reached her first Grand Slam semi-final at the Australian Open and won her first WTA title in California.
Carell has continued his ties to British tennis ever since. He worked briefly at one of the LTA’s National Academies in Stirling, most recently with Britain’s Katie Swan, 22.
Raducano is scheduled to play in the Transylvania Open, which begins in Cluj, Romania, a week later on Monday.
It was her only appearance since the US Open in Indian Wells, where she lost her first match as a Grand Slam champion to Alexandra Sasnovich.
Jeremy Bates stood as her coach for a few days, but he has a long-term arrangement with another British player, Katie Poulter.
Perhaps other trial runs will follow the period with Carell, as Raducanu and her family try to determine the right coach to lead them to the Australian Open in January.
