The National Seismological Center said a moderate-intensity 4.2 earthquake struck Ladakh on Sunday.
It added that the earthquake occurred at 11.29 am at a depth of 140 km in the Kargil belt in the Union Territory.
Officials said there were no reports of damage
The Himalayas are prone to earthquakes.
