Rossano Rubicondi dies: Italian actor and ex-husband of Ivana Trump dies at 49

Italian actor and actress Rossano Rubicondi has passed away, after suffering a year-long illness, it was announced Friday.

The star – who was also famous for being the doll lover of 72-year-old Ivana Trump – was just 49 years old when he passed away.

The news of Rossano’s death was broken by Italian TV presenter Simona Ventura on Friday night – as the European star took to social media to share the sad update.

Simona wrote: “Rossano… Thanks for the journey we took together, for the good times and the bad, and also the tears and laughter, so much, and all that we’ve done together.”

She added, “Farewell. Rip.”

The cause of death has not been announced, but an Italian report claimed that Rossano “was ill for a year” before his death.

Ivana and Rossano dated for six years before they married in 2008 – when he was 36 and she was 59.

Their marriage came 16 years after Ivana’s divorce from President Donald Trump – to whom she was married from 1977 to 1992.

While Ivana and Rossano’s marriage was short-lived – they separated in 2009 after just a year – it wasn’t the end of their romance.

They continued to enjoy an on-off relationship into 2019 – at which point Ivana announced that they had “called it quit”.

However, the couple was spotted together in New York last November.

Their wedding cost $3 million (£2.2 million) and was hosted by Donald with 400 guests, with Ivana and Donald’s daughter, Ivanka, as bridesmaid.

He worked as a model and also enjoyed success as an actor – appearing in productions including the TV show Professione Fantasma and the movie Natale a Beverly Hills.

His last movie was the 2018 movie Head Full Of Honey which featured Nick Nolte, Matt Dillon and Emily Mortimer in the cast.
