Dillian White’s long-awaited world title fight against Tyson Fury can be secured after WBC ordered negotiations over the mandatory match, Sky Sports understands.
In October, the WBC publicly ordered Fury to face Whyte, WBC’s “interim” champion, if he could not agree to an undisputed world title fight within 30 days.
Whyte will now force a mandatory title fight against Fury scheduled for next year, despite the ongoing arbitration between the Brixton man and the WBC.

The confirmation of Fury vs Whyte has ended any speculation about the undisputed world title battle between the WBC champion and Alexander Usyk, who will go ahead with a planned rematch against Anthony Joshua.
Speaking to Sky Sports last month, Whyte challenged Fury to finally seal his heated rivalry in the ring.
White said, “Fury has been tasked with fighting me twice. He asked for the WBC ‘Diamond’ belt for my fighters, but ran away when they agreed. He kept making excuses.”
Fury was recently tested about his future plans
“I hope now he has no other choice. What will he do? Throw the belt in the trash and run away with more money than he got for the fight.” [Deontay] Wilder?
“Obviously he says he’s a fighter and a guy who sticks to his word, but we all know he’s talking a lot of blame, so let’s see.
“He said he’d fight me after he defeated Wilder, and then he ran away. Let’s see what he does.”
Fury stepped out of the cloth twice to retain the WBC title with a knockout win over Deontay Wilder.
But Whyte issued a warning to Fury, telling Sky Sports: “Of course I’m going to knock him out.
White ousted Alexander Povetkin to regain his place as temporary WBC champion
“Wilder is overrated. He can hit, but he can’t fight. He’s very athletic and agile, and he’s got good speed, so when he’s closing the distance quickly and landing a punch, he’s very powerful.
“But he can’t box and he can’t fight. Everything he does is erratic and that’s why Fury managed to kick him out.
“He defeated Fury twice, heavy knockouts, and Fury came back and won the rounds. Wilder is just a nature freak, he has no artistic ability.
“If I put Fury down, I will attack him, head and body, head and body.”
