Richarlison sends a two-word message to Everton fans after controversial substitution

Richarlison sent a two-word message to Everton fans after being substituted in the second half of their 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues were comfortably defeated by Patrick Vieira’s side thanks to a Conor Gallagher brace and a James Tomkins goal, although Salomon Rondon scored his first goal for the club.

The Venezuela international entered the match in the 58th minute to replace Richarlison, which appeared as if the Brazilian reacted angrily to him.

Rafa Benitez later revealed that the striker reported him with a first-half injury but wanted to stay on the field, before the manager quickly made the decision to replace him.

Everton fans cheered the 24-year-old’s name after the decision, and he responded with a simple message to fans.

“Stay strong,” he wrote on Instagram after Sunday’s game.

The caption accompanied a photo of Richarlison with Anthony Gordon, but not from Sunday’s game against Crystal Palace.

Everton hope the Brazilian’s injury does not keep him out of next Thursday’s clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, as the Blues face Leicester at Goodison Park the following Sunday.
