A father of two twins who were left at home alone and died after a house fire in south London said the family had been “devastated” by the loss.
Dalton Huth, 28, described the four brothers, whom family members named Kayson and Bryson, four, and Leighton and Logan, three, as “bright, loving and loving boys.”
About 60 firefighters arrived on the scene in less than three minutes and tried to rescue the children, who were given CPR and taken to hospital, where they died.
Firefighting teams and the Metropolitan Police are investigating the cause of the fire on Thursday evening.
A 27-year-old woman was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of child neglect and remains in police custody.
“My family and I are utterly devastated by this tragic loss,” Huth said in a statement sent to MailOnline on Friday.

“They were smart, caring, lovable boys, but most of all sons, brothers, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and cousins.
“We would like to thank all the emergency services who have done so much to try to save our boys, as well as the local community who have come together at this difficult time.
“I would like to ask my family to give time to grieve in private. They will be forever in my heart and thoughts, I love my father.”
Ch Sopt Dave Stringer, the township commander for Croydon, Bromley and Sutton police, confirmed the children were related to each other.
“There was no one else inside the property at the time of the fire,” he told reporters at the scene on Friday afternoon.
The boys’ grandfather, Asian Wimbledon security officer Jason Huth, told reporters on Friday: “I just left my son. He’s broken. We all are. I’ve lost four grandchildren and he’s lost his kids too.”
“It is very heartbreaking because their gifts were stacked under the tree, ready. We don’t know what happened and we are just waiting for the police to come back to us.”
In a Facebook post, the grandfather wrote: “I am appalled to say that the terrible house fire that occurred in Sutton last night resulted in the loss of four children’s lives. [sic] They were my smart and wonderful grandchildren.
“[They were] Taken so early and you will always be in our hearts and thoughts. Boys love you forever. Grandad xxx
