Germany is tightening travel restrictions from the UK in an effort to limit the spread of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

There will be a ban on transport from the UK to Germany, with the exception of German citizens, residents and passengers in transit.

Procedures will start from midnight on Sunday – or 11pm UK time.

Restrictions may last until at least January 3rd.
