The intensive care doctor revealed that every patient infected with coronavirus in the intensive care unit of his hospital is not immunized.

Dr David Hepburn said Covid patients in critical care at Grange University Hospital in Cumbran, South Wales, had not been vaccinated until Tuesday.

Dr Hepburn said the only people in the hospital’s intensive care unit were those who decided not to be stabbed.

He told Mail Online: “All ITU Covid patients are not immunized at the moment and we have seen several deaths this week.

None of them had significant comorbidities and they were people you would normally expect to live another 30 years.”

He urged all those who have not yet received an injection to do so, saying: “Even if your risk of becoming seriously unwell is low, vaccination makes a big difference to those around you who are waiting for treatment for other conditions.

“We should all do what we can to help our neighbors and friends – reason enough in my opinion.”

But he added that everyone should be “sympathetic” to the reasons why some are reluctant to receive vaccinations.

His comments came as nearly 20,000 Covid patients are hospitalized in the latest available data published on Tuesday.

This represents a rise of 21% on a weekly basis, the highest number since February 16, 2021.

That’s also just over half of the 39,254 patients registered on January 18, 2021 – at the height of the second wave.

However, the number of Covid patients in hospitals has decreased in recent days in some parts of the country, including London.

The most recent data also reveal that 62.3% of the population aged 12 years or older received a booster dose or a third dose.
