DS Skowron said his policing colleagues in Sweden are currently looking into expanding the use of CCTV, after being impressed at what the British police had at their disposal.
“We understand that CCTV is an issue being looked at in Sweden,” DS Skowran said. “It was quite key for them to see how we had all this material at our disposal and I think it was something that they are looking at expanding.”
The court heard two other Swedes had also flown to the capital in the weeks and days before the shooting, which had been meticulously planned for up to six months.
Tobias Andersson, 32, and Bawer Karaer, 23, also from Sweden, were acquitted of both charges.
All four Swedish nationals quickly fled the UK after the attack, and were later extradited to stand trial.
Clifford Rollox, 31, from Islington, north London, and Dutch national, Claude Isaac Castor, 31, from Saint Maarten in the Caribbean, were found guilty of perverting the course of justice after being hired locally to clean up the flat where the killers had stayed.
