Afghanistan earthquake: No casualties have been reported so far.
An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale struck Afghanistan, Wednesday, according to the National Center of Seismology. There were no reports of casualties so far.
The US Geological Survey said the 4.9-magnitude quake was centered 35 km north of Amlapura city in Bali’s Karangasem district. Its shallow depth of 9.6 kilometers (6 miles) may have caused people to run outside.
An earthquake of similar magnitude in the Karangasem Hills last year triggered landslides and isolated at least three villages, killing at least three people.
