Sonoma County supervisors approve earthquake response plan

[ad_1]

Do you have a contingency plan ready in case of an earthquake? Well, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors does. The Earthquake Response Plan sets out guidelines for immediate response and early recovery from a major seismic event, including specific actions to be taken by county personnel, emergency response personnel, and other agency partners. The plan drawn up by the emergency department will serve as an addition to the county’s overall emergency operations plan, which was revised in March after several years of devastating wildfires. Details of the plan include alert and warning use, fire suppression, hazardous materials response, and transition recovery and damage assessment. Plan information ranges from first-priority emergency response and recovery guidance information to facility restoration, debris removal, temporary housing and disaster assistance programs for affected residents.
