Bob Dylan has revealed that he recently did “turbulent” episodes of long-running TV series Coronation Street.

In a rare interview, the 81-year-old famous singer-songwriter who first conquered the world in the 1960s said the ITV series, along with Father Brown, and early episodes of Twilight Zones were his guilty pleasure.

“I know they’re old-fashioned, but they make me feel at home,” Dylan told The Wall Street Journal (Wall Street Journal). .

Dylan chooses to watch British soap operas and sitcoms, and describes himself as a “squeeze person,” which he says makes things complicated, including how to relax.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Dylan says, “I’m relaxed for a minute, and then, for no reason at all, I’m anxious and stressed.”

Expressing his dislike of the technology, which he compares to “magic”, comes as no surprise, as the star’s losing 2022 UK tour became “non-phone events”.

Audiences on the Rough and Rowdy Ways World Tour, which was held for four nights at the London Palladium as well as venues in Cardiff, Manchester, Oxford and Bournemouth, were asked to lock their phones in bags.

The shows were Dylan’s first UK dates in over five years and supported his UK No. 39 album.

His extensive back catalog including Blowin’ In The Wind and Tangled Up In Blue featured on the tour, which also played over 74 shows in the US.

In November, Dylan came under fire from fans after a $600 (£492) copy of his book, Philosophy of Modern Song, which he claimed was “hand-signed” was actually “in the form of an epigraph”.

Publisher Simon & Schuster has apologized to purchasers of the book, a collection of more than 60 essays focusing on songs by artists like Elvis Costello and Nina Simone, saying it will be refunded.

Rising from the folk scene in New York City’s Greenwich Village, the singer became a counter-cultural figure with his release of a string of political anthems and has gone on to sell over 125 million records worldwide.
