Greta Thunberg mocked Andrew Tate on Twitter after Romanian authorities confirmed he had been arrested on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organized criminal group.

According to a statement from prosecutors from the Organized Crime Unit, Mr Tate, a former kickboxer and problematic internet guru, will be held for 24 hours for questioning along with two Romanian suspects.

It was reported that the siblings have been under criminal investigation since April.

Prosecutors said they found six women who had been sexually abused by the suspects.

Authorities used Mr Tate’s social media post in which he mocked a Romanian pizza chain, Jerry’s Pizza, to confirm his presence in the country. Thunberg did undercover research on the far-right Twitter influencer. “This is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes,” she wrote, in response to Tate’s video.

This comes after Thunberg responded to a tweet from Mr Tate, in which he bragged about his car’s range and its “massive emissions”, inviting him to “enlighten” it by emailing “smalld***[email protected]”.

1672408790 “I’m a social media expert – here’s my advice to Greta Thunberg on Andrew Tate”

It’s pretty much a unanimous ‘yes’. But was that the right thing to do? The answer to that is less clear. Let me explain why.

“I think you’ve been there: someone says something to you that isn’t all nice or just utter nonsense, and you say nothing. You can’t find the words.

“Under a layer of shock and annoyance and everything else, they just weren’t there. Even them. If you’re anything like me, it’ll be about two hours later when the moment goes by well and truly. Can you find the connection?”

1672408201 Urged Romania to act against human traffickers by Greta in 2021

A rights group called GRETA (Group of Experts on Action Against Human Trafficking) drew attention to crime in Romania last year, even as far-right influencer Andrew Tate was detained by authorities in the country on Thursday.

In a June 2021 press release, Greta urged Romania to ensure that human trafficking offenses lead to effective and dissuasive penalties and that victims of trafficking receive compensation.

The report also noted that Romania remains predominantly a country of origin for victims of human trafficking.

The group’s press release from a year ago resurfaced after Tate got into a controversy with climate activist Greta Thunberg on Twitter.

Roman pizza box in response to Greta Thunberg’s video may have given Andrew Tate’s website

Andrew Tate’s humiliating Twitter altercation with climate activist Greta Thunberg appears to have led to his arrest by Romanian authorities on human trafficking charges and a rape investigation.

Tate, a former kickboxer who became famous for his misogynistic views, was arrested by Romanian police after they dropped him off at a villa where he was staying with his brother Tristan on Thursday.

It is believed that the arrest might never have happened if he had not posted a video of applause mocking Thunberg on Twitter.
