UFC President Dana White has publicly apologized after video emerged of him hitting his wife, Anne, at a New Year’s Eve party in Mexico.

In footage attended to by TMZ, the couple can be seen arguing before the UFC boss grabbed his wife’s arm. Ann responded by slapping Dana across the face, then slapping her twice across the face. The pair can then be seen quarreling briefly before they are broken up by fellow clubmates.

The incident occurred when Dana and Ann greeted in 2023 with friends in the VIP area above the dance floor at El Squid Roe nightclub in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

The Clubbers have since told TMZ Sports that both Dana and Ann appeared “very drunk” prior to the incident, and the conflict appeared to be over in “less than a minute.”

The couple has since issued a public apology, with the UFC boss telling TMZ: “I’m one of the guys, you’ve heard me say for years: ‘There is never any excuse for a man to get his hands on a woman. And now I’m here at TMZ talking about it.

“My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years. We’ve known each other since we were about 12. We’ve obviously been through some troubles together and we have three kids, and this is one of those terrible situations.

“I feel embarrassed, but it’s also one of those situations where we worry more about our kids. We have three kids, and obviously since the video came out, we’ve shown the kids the video and we’re more focused on our family now.

“People will have their opinions on this. Most people’s opinions will be correct—especially in my case. Never lay your hands on a woman. My wife and I clearly love each other. We’ve been together for a very long time.”

“There was definitely a lot of alcohol, but there’s no excuse. I literally don’t make any excuses for this thing, ever. It’s never happened before. It’s the first time it’s ever happened, and people say what they do,” I’ll say. That’s what it is. And whatever people say, it is deserved. I deserve it. It happened. “

Speaking in 2014, Dana said there was “no rebound” from hitting a woman. He said, “One thing you never bounce back from is getting your hands on a woman.” It’s been this way in the UFC since we got our start here. You don’t bounce back from laying your hands on a woman.”

Anne, who has been married to Dana for 26 years, added in a separate statement: “Dana and I have been married for nearly 30 years. To say this is out of character for him is an understatement — nothing like this has ever happened before.”

“Unfortunately, we were drinking too much on New Year’s Eve and things got out of hand, on both sides. We’ve talked about it as a family and apologized to each other. I just hope people respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.”
