A “sick and twisted” former GP who committed 115 sexual offenses against 28 women and girls as young as 15 and “exploited” his victims’ fears has been sentenced to two additional life sentences.
Manish Shah, 53, abused his position when he persuaded female patients to undergo unnecessary intimate examinations for his sexual gratification over a four-year period from 2009.
He flattered and cared for vulnerable victims, even using the cases of celebrities Angelina Jolie and Goody Goody to persuade patients to agree to invasive examinations.
He then falsified records to cover it up, and Old Bailey has overheard.
At the time, Shah was a respected partner to the GP at the Mawney Road Medical Clinic in Romford, east London – but has since been suspended and later written off.
In February 2020, Shah was sentenced to three life sentences with a minimum sentence of 15 years for 90 offenses against 24 women after two separate trials.
A third trial last month concluded another 25 convictions for sex crimes against four other women and girls.

On Monday, Judge Peter Rock sentenced Shah to life in prison with a minimum term of 10 years to run concurrently with previous sentences.
The life sentences relate to offenses against the two youngest victims who were 15 and 17 years old when Shah began abusing them.
Sentencing him at the Old Bailey, Judge Rock said Shah was still “a danger to women” because it had highlighted the “scale and nature” of his crimes.
He said the life sentence reflected not only its seriousness, but also the “public disgust” that followed once it came to light.
Judge Rock told Shah, “I chose women who were young and vulnerable, gained their trust and exploited their fears.”
He said the result of Shah’s behavior was to divert resources away from the NHS, damage the reputation of the surgery he was engaged in, and cause “long-term psychological harm” to his victims.
Attorney General Real Carme Jones KS said: All 25 crimes were part of a crime campaign that now includes 115 sexual offenses against 28 victims.
“It was carefully planned. There was a mixture of flattery and fear in the women. He chose weak women. He gained their confidence by saying he cared for them, and claimed he had special skills.”
Earlier in the commutation, Amanda Hamilton said, “He’s gone from a position envied by many to a position lower than most of us can imagine.”
In sentencing notes, Judge Rock noted that Shah was married and still had the support of his family, had no evidence of wrongdoing while on bail and had been a “model prisoner” since his imprisonment.
The judge imposed more specific prison sentences for the remaining charges that will also be applied concurrently with the life sentences.
