The Reds lost in the English Premier League at the Amex Stadium after goals from Solly March (two goals) and Danny Welbeck in the second half.

After the match, the captain spoke to Sky Sports to offer his assessment – read on for the interview…

In the result…

I think Brighton were better than us in all departments, to be honest. It’s a real low point for us today as a team. We need to stay together. There’s an honest group of guys there and it’s a tough moment for us as a team, for sure, but we need to come together, we need to stick together and try to turn things around very quickly because matches come thick and fast and we need to try to learn from the day as best we can and show a reaction.

On “what’s wrong” from his point of view…

I think there wasn’t one thing, I think there were several things that weren’t right at all and probably haven’t been right for a little while now. Like I said, we have to be a lot better than that – everyone knows that. In the dressing room after the game we all know we can be better individually, collectively and everything across the board. And I will take responsibility, lads will take responsibility for trying to make it right.
