The missing father, along with his partner and newborn, appeared to be a registered sex offender.

Detectives have been searching for Mark Gordon, Constance Martin and their baby since they went missing when their car broke down on the M61 near Bolton on 5 January.

Police believe their baby may have been born inside the car and was no more than two days old at the time of the crash.

It is also believed that most of the couple’s property was destroyed when their abandoned car caught fire, due to a mechanical problem.

Gordon, 48, was convicted of rape and battery in the late 1980s and served 20 years in a Florida prison.

Upon his release and deportation to the United Kingdom in 2010, Gordon was listed on the sex offenders register.

After leaving their vehicle in Bolton on January 5, the couple are believed to have traveled by taxi to Liverpool before moving on to Essex and then London.

They are understood to have a large amount of money and are believed to be using it to pay for taxis and Airbnb accommodations in order to live off the grid, according to police.

Mrs. Martin, 35, comes from a wealthy aristocratic family.

Investigators are increasingly interested in the baby’s health and say no medical professional has evaluated the baby or the mother during pregnancy.

Superintendent Detective Lewis Basford, who is leading the investigation, said: “It has now been almost two weeks since Mark and Constance’s car broke down on the M61 motorway near Bolton and they had been traveling all that time with a newborn baby.”

“As far as we know, neither Constance nor the baby has received medical attention since birth. Our priority is ensuring the safety of the baby, and indeed Constance and Mark.

“This is a complex investigation with officers from across the Met continuing to work around the clock to find Constance, Mark and their child.

“There is no indication that any of them have suffered any kind of intentional harm – we just need to make sure they are okay, especially the baby, and don’t need any medical help for any underlying problems.

“Once again, Constance and Mark implore you directly. Please do the right thing for your child and contact us so we know you’re both okay.”

Around 100 Metropolitan Police officers are involved in the investigation and are supported by specialized resources from the National Crime Agency.

They sifted through 223 hours of security camera footage in their search for the missing family.

Greater Manchester Police, working alongside Essex Police, released a surveillance camera showing an individual believed to be Mrs Martyn in a red shawl outside Harwich Port, Essex, at 9am on Saturday 7 January.

The couple is also believed to have been spotted in Colchester.

The Metropolitan Police shared CCTV showing Mrs Marten, with a red shawl around her head, and Mr Gordon, with his head lowered and wearing a beanie, at East Ham station in Newham, east London, on the same day.

Police believe the couple, who were at the station sometime between 11.45am and 12.30pm, took a taxi from Essex.
