I felt the earthquake associated with fracturing north of Fort St. John

Fort Ste. JOHN, British Columbia – People felt a 4.5-magnitude earthquake north of Fort St. John on Monday.

Earthquakes Canada says it happened just before 12:30 PM on January 30. The epicenter was 130 km west-northwest of Fort St. John.

Officials say it is among the largest earthquakes to occur in the region. However, the people in the surrounding area sensed it lightly.

Seismologists from Earthquake Canada confirmed that the quake was related to industry, due to fracking-related activity.
