CNN reported, citing a source close to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, that Ukraine was forced to adjust some of its military plans ahead of a much-vaunted counterattack due to the leak of classified US documents.

Asked about the CNN report, Mykhailo Podolyak, a presidential aide, said that Ukraine’s strategic plans have not changed, but more specific tactical plans have always been subject to change.

“There are strategic missions,” he told Reuters. “It is not subject to change.”

“But the operational and tactical scenarios are constantly being refined, based on the assessment of the situation on the battlefield, the provision of resources, intelligence data on the enemy’s resources, and so on.” He said.

He added, “At the moment, it is impossible to reassess the plans, because they are only being prepared (now).”

Oleksey Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, told Reuters: “We are working on our plans… The opinion of people who have nothing to do with this matter doesn’t matter to us… The circle of people who own information is very narrow.”
