Manchester City puts Arsenal in sight.

City now face three pivotal matches that could make or break their season as they aim to complete a treble of titles.

They traveled to Bayern Munich with a healthy 3-0 advantage after the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, before playing Championship side Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s side should advance from those two encounters, but their next league match is a potential title decider against Mikel Arteta’s men, at home on Wednesday, April 26th at the Etihad Stadium.

“As I said in the previous press conference, it’s a win to win,” Guardiola said.

“they [Arsenal] They’ve done amazing so far this season, I don’t think they’ll drop a lot of points and we have to be there.

“It is important for us to get into the game by winning today and [it is] A final match against them in the next Premier League match.”

Arsenal can restore their six-point advantage when they face West Ham on Sunday and could be up to nine points by the time they meet City with an extra league game against bottom club Southampton next Friday.

“It’s final to play more finals,” Guardiola said of facing Arsenal. “If we lose this match it’s almost over.

“We have to get there and have the chance to get close to Arsenal. We want that chance to see how difficult it is but before that we have a chance in the Champions League and FA Cup semi-finals.”

And against Leicester, striker Erling Haaland continued his impressive goalscoring feat this season with his two goals, taking his tally to a record 47 in 40 appearances.

He scored a penalty and added a fine finish after John Stones’ opening goal to reach 32 Premier League goals in his first Premier League season.

Now he appears to have broken the milestones set by former England strikers Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, who scored 34 goals in one season.

Guardiola said: “I want, I hope he breaks all the records possible, that means he scores a lot of goals that help us. I think he wants trophies and we’re still there, but it’s impressive and there are still eight games for us to play. All of them.”

But he missed the opportunity to score a stunning hat-trick of the season as he retired as a first-half precaution alongside defender Stones.

“Excellent as always,” Guardiola said when asked about Haaland’s reaction to the take off.

“John and Erling back from injury, he played 90 minutes against Bayern after 15 days out and you have to take care of John. After 45 minutes it was good for them to rest.

“All the stats I don’t know about but I admire.”
