First I Am A Celebrity Survivor: South Africa has arrived, and Shaun Ryder and Gillian McKeith are the first celebrities to leave the All-Star camp.

After arguing over smuggling the previous night, the two camps are finally reunited, to the relief of Andy Wyment who has been struggling after three days on rice and beans.

However, it wasn’t long before Ant and Dec threw another curveball to the contestants – Andy, Phil Tuffnel, and Shaun Ryder were battling it out in the first survival trial of the series.

The twist didn’t end there as each celebrity was required to choose someone from the main camp to join them, and the losing pair was the first of the contestants to be sent home.

Phil Tove and Andy Jordan picked Banjo, who were both in good spirits and ready to help. However, Sean’s decision to team up with Gillian McKeith didn’t sit well with the TV personality, who bemoaned her ability to take part in an experiment.

“I feel like Sean has completely stitched me up,” she said angrily.

Titled Savage Safari, the experiment saw each pair handcuffed together and tasked with retrieving wrenches from boxes filled with snakes, rats, and fish guts.

Tove and Phil got off to a strong start and raced ahead of their peers, with Jordan and Andy right behind them. However, Jillian is unable to get her hand into the box to unscrew the screws, and she shrieks at the thought of reaching past the snakes.

“Gillian, at least make a fight out of it,” you yelled, as the other couples raced to the final boxes.

Jordan and Andy were the first to finish, followed by Phil and Toph – leaving Jillian and Shawn to be the first camp mates to be sent home.

“I’m a little disappointed to go,” Sean reflected as the couple headed out, while Jillian was grateful for her second camp stint.

“It was the best time of my life,” Jillian said.

She also added, “I also see a story full circle”, dealing with her relationship with former enemy Sean on the show.

“This pair [Shaun and Gillian] They were Nemis, coming full circle and going out together into the sunset. It’s a great life lesson.”
