The earthquake occurred three miles from El Centro, California, seven miles from Imperial, California, 17 miles from Brawley, California, and 45 miles from San Luis, Arizona, with a depth of 7.2 miles.

Earlier Saturday, a magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported at 7:48 a.m. Pacific time about a mile from Calexico, according to the US Geological Survey, hours after a nearby magnitude 4.1 quake struck.

The earthquake occurred three miles from El Centro, seven miles from Imperial, 16 miles from Brawley and 44 miles from San Luis, Arizona.

The 4.1 quake was reported at 5:07 a.m. Saturday about two miles from Calexico.

In the past 10 days, there have been five earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
