Aaron Rodgers does not attend the mandatory Packers mini camp.
The mainstream MVP’s showdown with Green Bay continues to be the biggest story in the NFL offseason. But with Rodgers not present to answer questions himself, that job falls to those players who are currently at the Packers facility.
Realistically, even if Rodgers were there, his teammates might still have to talk about him. But left tackle David Bakhtiari is doing his best to stay away from it.
“I have a very close relationship with Aaron, but it’s something I wouldn’t inject myself into,” Bakhtiari said via ESPN’s Rob Demofsky.
Bakhtiari was also asked if he thought Rodgers would ever return to the team and he replied, “I have an idea like everyone else… In time, the problem will be resolved, and we will all find out.”
Rodgers has left the door open for a comeback, as his issues appear to be with the front office rather than the coaching staff or his teammates. But until he does, the rest of the Green Bay players will inevitably be asked what they think of the situation.
