DeKalb County, Georgia. A triple shooting at a grocery store in DeKalb County, Georgia, killed a cashier and wounded a deputy and a gunman, ABC affiliate WSB-TV reported.
The shooting took place Monday afternoon at a Big Bear grocery store along Candler Road.
The incident started when a man walked into the store and refused to wear a mask.

“I have a friend who works in this shop and I think she was the one who got shot and that’s really sad,” said witness Markesha White. “I don’t know what the world is coming to – period.”
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the cashier told Victor Lee Tucker, Jr., 30, of Palmetto, to wear a mask when chaos broke out.

“Tucker left the store without making a purchase, but went back inside immediately. Tucker walked straight to the cashier, pulled out a pistol and shot her,” GBI said in a press release.
“The deputy fired back, shooting the suspect, who was also taken to a local hospital,” DeKalb County Sheriff Melody Maddox said.
The GBI said two DeKalb County police officers arrested Tucker while he was trying to crawl out the front door of the store.

Fernandez spoke with the owner of Big Bear, who was not named.
He said he hired an off-duty deputy to help enforce the store’s mask policy.
After Monday’s triple shooting, he said customers may not be allowed to carry any weapons inside the store anymore.
“How could they carry all the weapons in a public place like this?” he asked, describing the practice as “bad.”
People who frequent the shop say the gunman is well known in Big Bear and they think he may have some mental health issues.
Tucker was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was last listed as being in stable condition.
Another cashier was also shot. I was treated at the scene.
The deputy was taken to Atlanta Medical Center where he was last listed as being in stable condition.
