New discount on Apple Watch Series 6 Product Red Edition. Amazon and Best Buy both have a 40mm GPS version for $279 right now, or $120 off the regular price. While it’s not the all-time low of $249 that we saw briefly in April, this is still a huge deal on Apple’s most powerful smartwatch. Most of the other colors (in stock) are down $329, which is $70 less than usual.

If you want the best wearable experience Apple has to offer, Series 6 is the tool to get. Its exterior looks almost identical to the look of the 5 Series, but Apple has made some changes on the inside. It runs on an S6 chipset that’s 20 percent faster than the processor in its predecessor. In fact, Series 6 feels more streamlined when you’re scanning watch faces and switching between apps. New processor efficiencies also help the Series 6’s battery life improve a bit, and the watch charges faster than before, too. In just half an hour, the Series 6 gained 51 percent more power in our tests.
In addition to the array of sensors that the Series 5 Watch has, the Series 6 adds a blood oxygen sensor to measure oxygen saturation. Admittedly, this will only be very beneficial for a certain number of people, but it provides interesting health insights for everyone. We also appreciate the new native sleep tracking in watchOS 7, and the handwashing timer feature that counts as you keep an eye on your hands. Apple will also be expanding on watchOS 8 to make it more comprehensive.
We recommend the Apple Watch Series 6 for those who want all the health tracking features Apple has to offer, or simply the most powerful wearable in the company’s lineup. It’s an easier buy when it’s on sale like this one, if you’re comfortable with the red version. Those who don’t need additional health sensors and an always-on display can opt for the Apple Watch SE, which is also now sold on Amazon. The automatically applied coupon cuts $30 off some Watch SE colors, bringing it down to $240. This model gives you all the essential Apple Watch features like all-day fitness tracking, arrhythmia alerts, fall detection, noise monitoring and more at an affordable price.
