A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck the San Francisco Bay Area Monday night, but no injuries or damage have been reported since then.

The quake was felt throughout the area at about 6:29 p.m. local time. The San Francisco Fire Department later said there were no reports of injuries or damage.

According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake had a shock rate of 4.2 at its epicenter, which was later identified as Ashland. The earthquake’s intensity decreased to 4.0 and then to 3.9.

The 3.9-magnitude earthquake shook residents living in San Francisco, the Castro Valley, and throughout the East Bay.

“It was like you were feeling coming,” Vicki Esquivel, who lives in Hayward, told ABC News. “I felt like my house was going to fall from the foundation. I was so scared and then I screamed and ran into the living room and my husband and I looked at each other and said earthquake.”
