Biden’s supervisor launched a “door-to-door” campaign to vaccinate Americans, sparking a backlash

The Biden administration is launching a new “door-to-door” effort to vaccinate Americans after falling short of the July 4th goal of having 70 percent of the adult population get at least one injection of the coronavirus vaccine.

Amid the administration’s continuing concerns about an increase in Delta’s most contagious type of virus, President Biden outlined his plan to boost the vaccinated population during remarks he made Tuesday.

“Now we need to go from community to community, neighborhood by neighborhood, often door to door — literally knocking on doors, to get help for the remaining people who are protected from the virus,” Biden said.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki also referred to “door-to-door” efforts while listing the five goals of Biden’s COVID response earlier in the day at Tuesday’s briefing, citing “targeted door-to-door community outreach” to “get What’s left is vaccinating Americans by ensuring they have the information they need about how safe and accessible the vaccine is.”

Critics were quick to criticize the new initiative on social media, including many Republican lawmakers.

“What if you don’t knock on my door. You’re not my parents. You’re the government. Make the vaccine available, and let people have the freedom to choose. Why is this concept so hard on the left?” Representative Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, responded to the president.

How is the delta variant different from the original strain?

Rep. Lauren Bobert, R-Colorado warned: “The government now wants to go door-to-door to persuade you to get an ‘optional’ vaccine.

“Hell no,” Republican congressional candidate Sean Parnell exclaimed.

“Education should be about vaccines and doctor-patient conversations, not through the door of popular government,” wrote Dr. Nicole Safire, physician and Fox News contributor.

Representative Thomas Massey, R-K wrote, “Lots of people have significant government antibodies. Don’t knock on those doors.”

As Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Arizona, put it: “None of the government business people know who has been vaccinated or who has not been vaccinated.”

“Whoever has suggested that the best way to reach the remaining skeptics of the vaccine is to talk about going door-to-door should be fired immediately. It’s Beto O’Rourke for vaccine awareness,” posed GOP strategist Matt Whitlock, the Biden administration.

“How will the government know who is or is not vaccinated for this type of targeting?” asked Ash Short, senior editor of the Daily Wire.
