3 potential commercial bear candidates enter 2021 training camp

The Chicago Bears are in a unique position heading into the 2021 campaign.

Even with the first-round pick of 2021 Justin Fields now waiting in the wings as the team’s future quarterback, the Bears still have a veteran squad around the rookie signal caller, a team that could rival the Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers heading elsewhere. in 2021.

However, the bears need not play in the present but in the future because the fields should be in Windy City for years to come.

If veteran quarterback Andy Dalton eventually starts the upcoming regular season as the team’s starting signal caller, the Bears should start to weed out old talent in exchange for younger players or future NFL picks.

With the team already set in the middle, tight end and (rather) wide future, the Bears should waste no time looking to the market trade in order to surround the fields with players and choices that will help him in his long-term draw. The odds of the Bears competing in the NFC North in 2021-22 remain slim as the Rodgers can still return to Green Bay plus the fact that both the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings have done well this season.

A little success now isn’t worth ruining massive success for years to come as the Bears need as much NFL future capital as possible moving forward.

Bears Commercial Nominees: Nick Foles, QB

With the Chicago Bears picking former Ohio State player Justin Fields in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft as well as signing former Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton, the NFC North franchise no longer needs the services of esports quarterback Nick Foles.

Despite being overpaid to get the Foles in the first place, the Bears need to break away from the Philadelphia Eagles’ legend regardless of return. The stench surrounding the Bears after several tough seasons, including part one in Windy City last year, just isn’t what the Bears need right now. Fingers could call up a late pick for an NFL draft or two if the Bears are willing to eat some of his unnecessarily high salary.

Of course, it goes without saying that Foles’ inflated salary would be the biggest deal breaker for the Bears and any team willing to take on the veteran caller. Foles will be nothing more than an essential backup for any NFL franchise heading into 2021-22 and currently serving as the Bears’ third captain behind Dalton and Fields, respectively.

Jimmy Graham, TE

With the Chicago Bears starting to get a tight end coming in Cole Kumit more involved in the team’s offensive line, veteran tight end Jimmy Graham may not be used nearly as much in 2021-22. While Graham will certainly continue to serve as a sort of red zone target for the Bears, there could be a lot more Kmet up and down the field and the young passer could pull it all together this time around.

With at least a little something still going on about Graham in the tank, there’s no doubt that the opposing team will rack up a few NFL picks against the long tight end. If Graham is still in Chicago in 2021-22, it will only hinder Kmet’s progress. It’s also worth noting that Graham will be an unrestricted free agent after the 2021-22 season, so getting something for him would definitely be better than nothing for the Bears, especially with Kmet in the mix at the tight end.

Anthony Miller, WR

The future of the Chicago Bears wide reception room is still up in the air as veteran passer Allen Robinson II will play the 2021-22 campaign under the standards of the league’s franchise tag.

With Robinson only associated with Chicago for at least one more season, the Bears will likely need to look outside the organization to potentially fill the void at the premiere location. With that being said, after three seasons at the highest level, fellow Bears wide receiver Anthony Miller has shown he’s not one of the best in passes while collecting two mediocre seasons after a relatively strong rookie campaign.

However, Miller still had enough promise that another franchise from across the league would be willing to part with some future NFL capital in order to give youngsters a second chance at success. Like both Robinson and aging Bears Jimmy Graham, Miller will also be an unrestricted free agent after the 2021-22 season.
