Crews are still searching for several yet to be found victims after the June 24 crash and officials say they are still looking at reports from three or four others, which may have been duplicate or false reports.
On Tuesday, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniela Levine Cava said that identifying victims has become increasingly difficult in recent days.
“In this step of the recovery process, we rely heavily on the work of the medical examiner’s office,” she said. “It is a scientific and systematic process for identifying human remains. This work is becoming more and more challenging with time. Although our teams work as hard as possible, it takes time.”
