Android 12 brings a lot of visual changes with it, and the compatibility-ready experience is now updated. With Android 12 Beta 3, Google is introducing a new coat of paint to try out the setup on Pixel phones.
The new setup experience found in Android 12 Beta 3 provides a mostly visual update to the setup experience we’ll see on Pixel phones from now on. The experience is sure to be tweaked for other Android device manufacturers as always, but this latest review lays a good foundation for others to follow.
what’s new? Besides the visual fix, there are some nice tweaks. Google has put more emphasis on teaching navigation gestures with a lengthy tutorial on how to use gestures. This part isn’t exactly new, but it looks a little more in-depth now than it did in previous versions.
Moreover, Google has added a neat little Easter egg to the front page. The shapes that you can see in the first image below move around the screen and when they hit the sides of the screen there is a very subtle vibration. This is just the latest in a long list of examples from Google touting the haptic experience it provided on the Pixel 4, so it might be a hint that the Pixel 6 might bring that feeling back.
