Major media headlines on July 21
In today’s media news, politicians mislead the Texas education bill, Jeff Bezos is getting roasted for thanking employees and customers for paying for his space flight, and critics lash out at the press for the soft treatment of Democratic “Texas Super Publishers.”
CNN anchor Don Lemon referred to President Joe Biden as the “big guy” during Presidential City Hall on Wednesday night.
During City Hall, which was held in Cincinnati, Ohio, Lemon asked Biden about his experience being the “big guy.”
“You’ve been the big guy for six months in the White House now. Can you take us behind the scenes, something that was unusual or unusual that happened to you that caught your attention?” Lemon asked.
The source on the alleged Hunter Biden email is checking a message about the Chinese investment company
The “big man” was specifically used as a reference to Biden in a leaked email purportedly relating to Joe Hunter’s son Biden doing a deal with a Chinese energy company. In 2020, Fox News confirmed the credibility of an email dated May 13, 2017 that details a discussion about “reward packages” for people involved in a business transaction. A section of the email contained a convenience division that read “10 held by H for the big guy?” which was later confirmed to refer to Joe Biden.
Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, RN.Y. He also commented on this link by tweeting, “Wow. Even Don Lemon knows Joe Biden is the ‘Big Guy’! #HuntersEmails.”
Hunter Biden was once mentioned during City Hall when Joe declared himself “proud” of his son. The scandals surrounding Hunter Biden have often been downplayed by the media with previous examples being referred to as “Russian disinformation”.
Regardless of whether Lemon intended to reference the emails or not, many Twitter users criticized Lemon’s performance as a town hall moderator.
Tennessee Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn tweeted, “Don Lemon is not a journalist. He’s an activist. #BidenTownhall.”
As Donald Trump adviser Gina Ellis wrote, “Don Lemon is of course not a journalist. He’s an activist and political hack. Obama himself told Jake Tapper — he’s ‘quitting the press completely’ to join CNN. Rolling on the floor laughing.”
