4.2 Earthquake July 23 11:52 pm (GMT +1)
A 4.2-magnitude earthquake near Belvedere Maritimo, Provencia di Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, was reported just 11 minutes ago by the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), which is one of the main international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The moderate to large earthquake occurred at a depth of 268 kilometers below the epicenter late at night on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11:52 pm local time. The exact size, focus, and depth of an earthquake can be reviewed within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review the data and improve their calculations, or when other agencies release their reports. The Seismological Center (EMSC) which recorded the earthquake of magnitude 4.3 and according to preliminary calculations, we do not expect many people to feel the earthquake and it did not cause any damage. In Telegrafo (population 83, 47 km), Belvedere Marittimo (population 6200, 47 km), Cetraro Marina (population 4000, 50 km), Scalea (population 9300, 55 km), Marina di Fuscaldo (from Population 3100, 56 km), Paola (population 12,600, 59 km), San Lucido (population 4,200, 61 km), Praia a Mare (population 6,500, 62 km), and Marina Tortura (population 4900, 64 km), may not have been felt by earthquake.

If you felt this earthquake (or if you were near the epicenter), please share your experience and submit a short “I felt it” report! Other users would love to hear about it, and also if you didn’t feel the earthquake despite being in the area, please report it! Your contribution is also valuable for seismology, earthquake risk analysis, and mitigation efforts. You can use your device’s location or a map to indicate where you are during the earthquake. Thanks! Data on the same earthquake was reported by different agencies
Information: The more agencies report the same earthquake and publish similar data, the more you can trust the data. It usually takes up to a few hours for earthquake parameters to be calculated with near-perfect accuracy.
