Atlanta Braves C Travis d’Arnaud returned from the injured list after 86 matches

ATLANTA – Braves returned trapper Travis d’Arnaud from his rehabilitation duties and returned him from the list of injured.

D’Arnaud, who finished seventh against Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday, left 86 matches due to a left thumb sprain. He was added to the list of injured 2.

D’Arnaud placed 1-4 against walking and crossing.

“It’s been three and a half months,” d’Arnaud said before an 8-6 win in 11 installments. “Going back with the guys who get up is very exciting. I’m very lucky.”

The Braves interceptors have combined .180 and .537 OPS this season, both of which are the latest major leagues.

Atlanta kidnappers hit 0.299 last season with .862 OPS, thanks in large part to d’Arnaud winning the Silver Slugger Award for the best .321 batting average of his career and leading all catchers in batting average, base percentage, batting percentage and RBI.

“Rehabilitation went well, no adversity,” d’Arnaud said. “Luckily, I was surrounded by the right people, and they kept me in the right state of mind. Now I’m back here with another big group of friends to go out to fight with.”

D’Arnaud in his second season with the Braves said he was excited to join the team at the Quail Games. The three-time defending National League East champion started first place in one game after Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Alongside Ronald Acuna Jr., Marcell Ozuna, Ozzie Albies and NL MVP Freddie Freeman, d’Arnaud was the cog in the 2020 lineup that led the seventh game of the Braves National League Championship.

Acuna is out of season due to a knee injury and Ozuna is sidelined due to domestic violence, but Braves CEO Alex Anthopoulos bought Adam Duvall, Joc Pederson and Jorge Soler to give the line-up more strength. Freeman, Albies, Austin Riley and Dansby Swanson also have a lot of potential at home.

“Even without Ronnie, it’s a threat,” d’Arnaud said. “One to nine – I put the feeders there too – is a real chance to hurt.”

In order to make room for d’Arnaud on the list, kidnapper Kevan Smith was appointed to the position.
