COLORADO SPRINGS, color. The conference announced the schedule for Boise State’s 18-match Mountain West men’s basketball season 2021-22. The Broncos will open a league match at home on December 28 against Fresno State.
The dates of each game may change based on TV selections. Mountain West’s national television partners CBS Sports and FOX Sports are now embarking on a selection process that includes transferring certain games to any weekend night. The mains plugs and drip times are then identified. The shipping schedule will be announced next month.
Each of the 11 Mountain West schools will play eight home-and-home series, along with one additional game and one additional road game. The Broncos does not host New Mexico or travel to the state of San Jose. They play with eight conference opponents twice.
The opening of the league against Fresno State will be followed by consecutive road games in Wyoming and the state of Utah. The Broncos return home to their host state of Colorado (Jan. 8) and then travel to Nevada (Jan. 11) before reaching the first two on schedule.
The evening’s home day (Jan. 18) will be followed by a trip to Mountain West champion San Diego State to defend the first meeting of the year on Jan. 22.
Wyoming arrives at the ExtraMile Arena to finalize the month (January 25) and conclude Boise State’s first conference series. The road game in the state of Fresno (January 29) sends Boise State together.
The Broncos will then take two one-on-one opponents against each other, and they will receive the state of San Jose on Feb. 5 and travel to New Mexico on Feb. 8. Boise State gets its first glance at UNLV on Feb. 12, at the ExtraMile Arena, and then travels to the Air Force for a Feb. 15 meeting before the opposing party tent home games.
The state of Utah will travel to the Boise meeting on Feb. 19. If the date stays, it will be a year and a day after the Broncos scored 51 points in the second half before rallying Aggie past the series last season.
San Diego State will visit the ExtraMile Arena on Feb. 22. This is the seventh time Boise State in 11 years in Mountain West when the Broncos face the Aztecs in the regular season on February 22 or later.
After the meeting, a trip to UNLV. The final home game of the conference game is against Nevada (March 1), and the Regular Series ends March 5 in the state of Colorado.
The conference game will determine the transfer to the 2022 Mountain West Men’s Basketball Championships, which will be held from 9-12. March, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The two meetings in Boise State will take place on 15 January and 1 February.

Boise State will offer 12 returnees in 2021-22, including three beginners and two All-Mountain West selections a year ago. The school’s record of seven Broncos collected at least eight points per match last season. Five of them will return to blue and orange this year, the highest number of returners who have averaged at least eight points per match in the previous year since 1983-84.
Head coach Leon Riceen is at the helm of his 12th season. Rice is the all-time winning leader in Boise State men’s basketball history and has led the Broncos to six national post-season tournaments, including the first two big bids for the NCAA tournament in program history.
