Oregon defense chief Kayvon Thibodeaux, who is a potential number one in the 2022 NFL draft, has signed a marketing deal with United Airlines, which offers special direct flights to Eugene, Oregon, to select Ducks away games this season.
“Working with United Airlines was futile for me because it is a premium brand with the same core values as me,” Thibodeaux said in a statement to ESPN through his representative. “I look forward to a long-term relationship with United.”
The program will begin with several direct flights from Eugene to Columbus, Ohio, Sept. 9, to an Oregon match in Ohio, Sept. 11. Return flights from Columbus to Eugene will be available after the game and over the next two days.
Thibodeaux has quickly become one of the most prominent beneficiaries of changes in the name, image, and similarity rules of college football. As NCAA rules changed in early July to allow athletes to benefit from marketing agreements, Thibodeaux has pledged to trade for about $ 400,000, the source told ESPN.
Last month, he announced a non-exchangeable NFT deal with Nike founder Phil Knight and designer Tinker Hatfield, which involves a work of art.
“Phil Knight just contacted me. They already had a plan, and they only chose me as an exemplary guy,” Thibodeaux told ESPN. “They created art, and I’m blessed with this opportunity. I feel like they want to work with me in the future, which is why they gave me the opportunity.”
The fabric version of the book will be released at auction in partnership with eBay starting September 1st.
In addition, he works with PlantFuel and Starface, which are plant-based protein and skin care companies, and signed a six-digit private memorial contract, the source said.
Thibodeaux was selected as the Pac-12’s defensive freshman of the year in 2019 and was the first team’s All-Pac-12 choice last year. He arrived in Oregon in the 2019 class first place. According to ESPN NFL draft analysts Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay, he is number one in the 2022 NFL draft.
