The tournament is hosted by Aikens Parks, the recreation and tourism department at HO Weeks Recreation Center, 1700 Whiskey Road.
It is run by a group of local enthusiasts of pickleball, a sport that combines tennis, badminton and table tennis.
In front of the tournament, Laura Fenton Kovanda, a four-time US Open championship champion, will offer clinics and lessons:
- September 8 at Gym 1: Levels 2.0-2.5: 9-11; and levels 3.0-3.5: 11.30-13.30
- September 9 at Gym 1: Levels 3.5 + -4.0 +: 9-11; and levels 4.5+: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The show match will be held on September 9 at 6 p.m.
The tournament will be held on September 10. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and September 11 and 12, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
