England’s accelerator James Anderson has “beaten” that the Fifth Test against India at home, Old Trafford, was canceled, leading to a premature end to an exciting series that he said deserved a better result. (More cricket news)
The last match in the series was canceled when the Indian camp physical test showed positive before the game, leaving the visiting players afraid even though they were all negative.
Anderson, 39, also wondered if he could play another test match for England at home.
“I’m sorry for everyone in Lancashire cricket, for the fans who paid for the tickets / trains / hotels, for both supporters who wanted to see what this series deserved,” Anderson wrote on his Instagram page.
“I hope it will be played at some point again, and I hope I get to play another international game on my home field that I love so much,” he further mentioned.
Indian cricketers, led by skipper Virat Kohl, refused to play because they were concerned about a positive test during the germination period that would have occurred on 12-16.
All Indian cricketers who had an agreement with IPL franchising agreements left for Dubai the day after the test match was canceled.
Anderson has taken 632 throws from 166 tests and 15 throws from four tests against India.
