India will play one test in England in 2022- Report | Cricket

The England Cricket Board (ECB) and the Indian Cricket Control Board (BBCI) have announced their confirmation of plans to play a test match in England in the summer of 2022. Developments follow the Fifth India-England Test was rejected due to the Covid-19 epidemic at Team India camp earlier this month.

According to the report ESPNCricinfo, it is not established at this stage whether this test is an independent competition or the fifth test in a series of tests.

When the test was declared rejected, a series of prosecution games began in which several stakeholders and experts held India responsible for the outbreak. In addition, the ECB reports significant financial losses. If the test materializes, it will help the ECB to recover most of it.

The report also noted that previous discussions explored the possibility of two teams playing two additional T20Is. As it is, India will be in England in 2022 for a white ball tour. If the above test is continued, it may be considered as the fifth and final test in the unfinished series.

The first four tests in the series produced top-class cricket from both teams. India was denied a genuine shot to win the test when rain played weak sports in Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

India then dealt a memorable win in the second Lord’s test by taking all 10 English goals on the final day to win the game by 151 sets and taking a 1-0 lead.

The hosts immediately struck back in the third game, beating India with an inning and 76 runs to level the series at Headingley. India took the lead and continued 2-1 after reaching the fourth test with 157 runs of The Oval.
